Where is the 2027 eclipse longest?
Greatest duration occurs in Egypt, but the best trip is not automatically the mathematically longest one.

NASA GSFC gives the greatest-duration point near 26°49′N, 31°08′E at about 10:00:21 UTC.
Wide totality path
Near greatest duration the central path is roughly 257 km wide, giving substantial room for weather-driven relocation.
High Sun
Near Egypt the Sun is very high in the sky, useful for planning sight lines but demanding for heat management.
Why Luxor and Upper Egypt stand out
Upper Egypt lies close to the peak of the eclipse geometry and also benefits from extremely dry midsummer climatology. That combination is why it deserves a place at the top of a long-range shortlist.
But travel practicality, heat, local rules, current travel advice and the eventual cloud forecast all matter. We therefore keep Spain and Tunisia in the planner rather than treating Egypt as the only answer.
