Maximum duration versus practical duration

NASA's central-line tables show the longest totality near Upper Egypt. That number is a geometry benchmark, not a promise for a hotel, city center or event field. Moving away from the central line shortens totality, while local horizon, access and cloud can matter more than a few extra seconds.
